The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to send support to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of performers appearing on Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All were part of the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a group of music creators. The single showcases a mix of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The team running the project have stated that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a few million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a digital service from the 19th of December.
