The Blue Jays Earn World Series Meeting Versus Los Angeles Dodgers
The outfielder previously helped the Astros claiming the championship in the 2017 season.
Canada's MLB team reached their initial championship series since the 1993 season by beating the Seattle Mariners in the seventh Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.
Down by two runs, Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh, guiding the Toronto squad in MLB to a four games to three win in the series. They will now face the Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the anticipated Fall Classic.
"I'm thrilled for this squad, our city, the nation," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 World Series. "What an incredible feeling."
Springer has now hit 23 playoff homers, ranking him third in history after Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).
"There's probably not another player on planet Earth that I want up in that moment besides him with his October magic," noted Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Seattle, despite leading the series two games to none and three games to two, are still the only MLB franchise never to appear in a championship series.
Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it's going to sting" in the wake of his side's defeat at their home ballpark, but praised their work throughout the year.
"They're an exceptional squad. Unfortunately that we finished on the losing end of the series," he continued.
The Blue Jays secured the World Series on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and will host the Los Angeles in game one on Friday.
