Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
