Salah Extends Regret to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Salah expressed regret to the team after the fallout from his recent interview.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match after criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the Salah's words were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
