Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
